A large impacting factor on all outdoor security systems are the seasons. As seasons change, so to does the environment and as such so to do the effectiveness of many security systems.
Because of the effect of the seasons it is recommended that different systems are used in relation to the current time of year. Roughly speaking, there are warmer months and colder months, between these two periods different systems should be used.
During the colder months, general visibility is reduced as a result of the less daylight hours available. Because of this, cameras that operate well in low light conditions are recommended. Including night vision, and thermal cameras.
During the warmer months visibility isn’t such an issue. However the hot weather can have adverse effects on certain pieces of equipment. Heat damage is a common problem with systems that operate all day in high temperatures. It is recommended that you check if the equipment you are using can withstand the heat.
