The patio door and it’s surrounding windows are one of the most common points of entry that criminals use to enter a home. For these reasons, reinforcing the patio door and windows is highly recommended.

One of the best ways to reinforce the doors and windows is to use a multi-locking system. A multi-locking system allows a door to be locked at multiple points into the door frame, making it a much stronger seal than that of a standard lock.

However, not all patio and window door frames are strong enough to make good use of a locking system like this. It’s in these instances that multiple locks should be installed.

Additional ‘push to lock’ locks are recommended, these use a key to open and are easy to operate. Make sure there is enough frame to fit them on if drilling is required. If in doubt, consult the installer or manufacturer.
